Loweswater taken from the side of Burnbank fell just above the path from Fangs Brow farm. Looking over Holme wood and the lake with a sliver of ice on the surface, the fells seen on the opposite side are Darling Fell and Low Fell. In the distance at the other side of Lorton Vale are the mountains of Whiteside and Grasmoor. On the far right the dark mound of Mellbreak can be seen.
