The Crow's Nest structure in the harbour, which lights up at night with different coloured lights, is largely a decorative feature built as part of the Millennium improvements to the harbour. It does also provide a circle of seats under the dome to protect you from the rain as you eat your chips (on those rare occasions that it rains in Whitehaven).
