This is memorial to Robert Fisher who died in 1911. The significance of the horse is that he was a lover of horses and that this is an ornamental drinking trough for horses. Conveniently, for the horses, it was originally situated in the middle of the road in Tangier Street, near the old bus station. When horses were replaced by cars it became more of and obstacle than an asset and was removed to Castle Park near the band-stand.
