From Wasdale head the magnificent mountain of Great Gable rises from the valley floor to its snowy peak. This photo illustrates the change in climate a couple of hours climbing brings in the lake district - with bright sunshine and green grass at the base to the foreboding summit shaded by cloud and covered by rocks and snow.
