Plumblands Lane

Plumblands Lane connects Scotch Street with Queen Street behind the flats on  Duke Street. It was named after the field it was built on known as Plumblands Close. Houses were built all the way along the Duke Street side of this lane by the late 18th century as the gardens of  of the Duke Street plot were used to accommodate the ever increasing population and most of the other side was also occupied apart from the back of the Friends meeting House.
